Cerenity AI Privacy & Data Use Notice

Information you provide

Cerenity uses information you choose to provide for your private account and personalized experience. This may include:

• Your name and email address
• Profile and onboarding information
• Household size and cooking preferences
• Dietary restrictions, allergies, disliked ingredients, and preferred foods
• Saved recipes, shopping items, and cooking progress
• Nutrition records, goals, hydration, and weight history
• Feedback posts, replies, reports, and other content you submit to the Cerenity community

Your password is handled securely through Supabase Auth. Cerenity does not store your password in application data.

When you use the camera or photo library, your selected food image and visible food information are uploaded to private, account-scoped storage and processed through authenticated server services. This processing produces ingredient, meal, calorie, and nutrition estimates.

Scan results are reviewable and editable before you save or log them. Temporary scan files are eligible for cleanup. Images attached to saved meal history remain private until you delete the meal or your account.

Permissions and optional access

Camera and photo-library access are requested only when you use scanning or image-selection features.

Optional Apple Health or Health Connect access is read-only and limited to active-energy data. Cerenity uses this information to calculate an optional, conservative same-day calorie adjustment.

Cerenity does not write to or modify Apple Health or Health Connect. The underlying health samples remain on your device. Cerenity stores only your connection preference and the derived daily calorie adjustment needed to explain your historical nutrition target.

Notification permission supports device-scheduled water and meal reminders in your local time.

Location permission may be used to enable reminder setup. Cerenity checks only whether location permission was granted. It does not request, store, retain, or transmit your latitude, longitude, or other coordinates for reminders.

If you deny location or notification permission, reminders remain disabled. Denying optional permissions does not prevent you from using the rest of the application.

How information is used

Cerenity uses information to:

• Provide and personalize Recipe and Nutrition features
• Produce reviewable recipe suggestions, ingredient results, and meal estimates
• Maintain saved recipes, shopping lists, cooking progress, and meal history
• Calculate and display nutrition goals, progress, hydration, and weight history
• Provide personalized coaching and recommendations
• Operate community feedback, reporting, blocking, and moderation features
• Secure the service and prevent misuse
• Diagnose technical problems and measure service performance
• Respond to support and privacy requests
• Meet legal obligations and enforce applicable terms and policies

Cerenity does not use health information for advertising.

Service providers and processing

Cerenity currently uses:

• Supabase for authentication, private database storage, private image storage, server functions, and account email delivery
• OpenAI API for authenticated server-side food-image analysis, text processing, recipe features, and coaching
• USDA FoodData Central for structured food, nutrition, and barcode matching
• Apple and Google for device permissions, local notifications, health access, and platform subscription billing

OpenAI and other privileged provider credentials remain in protected server environments and are never included in the mobile application.

Food images and text sent to OpenAI are processed through Cerenity’s server-side API integration. Cerenity requests that responses are not stored as application state by the API, but provider security and abuse-monitoring retention remains governed by the provider’s current policies.

USDA receives food, ingredient, product, or barcode search terms. It does not receive your Cerenity account identifier.

Cerenity currently includes no advertising network or third-party behavioral analytics SDK.

Service providers receive only the information reasonably needed to perform their assigned functions. Information may be processed in countries other than where you live, subject to applicable provider safeguards and legal requirements.

Retention, security, and deletion

Account information and saved content are retained while needed to operate your account and provide the service. Information may be removed when you delete the relevant content or your account.

Temporary scan files are marked for short-lived processing and may be removed through cancellation, automated cleanup, meal deletion, or account deletion. Images connected to saved meal history remain private until the associated meal or account is deleted.

Cerenity uses authenticated access, owner-scoped database rules, private file storage, server-protected credentials, and other reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational safeguards. However, no online service can guarantee absolute security.

You can permanently delete your account from Settings → Delete Account. Cerenity first removes your private scan files and then deletes your authenticated account and account-linked application records.

If you cannot access the application, email cerenityai@gmail.com from the email address associated with your account.

Limited billing, fraud-prevention, security, moderation, legal, or dispute-resolution records may be retained or de-identified when reasonably necessary or required by law. Apple and Google retain their own subscription and transaction records according to their respective policies.

Your choices and contact

You can:

• Review and edit scan results
• Edit your profile, preferences, goals, and nutrition information
• Delete saved meals and their associated private images
• Skip or revoke optional permissions
• Disable reminders
• Disconnect health access or disable activity adjustments
• Manage subscriptions through Apple or Google
• Delete your Cerenity account
• Request access, correction, or deletion where applicable
